Everytime I make a post, I have every intention to make another post within a few days but as you can see that doesn't happen. I think that's because all the days run together right now. If I didn't keep a log of everything the babies did, I would have no idea when they last ate, pooped or got their medicine. It's amazing how fast time goes by but at the same time feels like it is standing still. The babies are still not sleeping longer than 3-3.5 hours at night which means we are still walking zombies. I keep hearing that it will get better but I honestly do not see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think we are just in that horrible stage of 4-8weeks (for us that is adjusted age as they are acutally 14 weeks) where all they do is cry and want to be held which isn't an easy task with three of them.

Ryan went back to work last Monday so that has been a tough transition. Although, having his parents here was definetly a God send. It sure was nice having him home for 4 weeks. I am honestly slightly jealous that he gets to go to work. It is tough being in the same situation day in day out with no reprive. As most of you know, being a stay at home mom is not something I plan on being. I love my babies very much but am looking forward to the day I can go back to work. We believe it will be happening in June so it is not that far off so I am trying to enjoy this time with them. My mom will be watching the trio during the day at our house which is honestly the only reason I am even able to go back to work being that childcare is extremely expensive.

Even though this is a crazy time, thankfully the babies are all doing really well. The last time we went to the doctor's which was 2 weeks ago they weighed the following:
Emery - 8lbs10oz
Grayson - 8lbs3oz
Nathan - 7lbs
If they put on an oz a day which is typical weight gain at this stage then they would all be 15 oz heavier today. We go back to the doctor this Friday so we will see what their actual weights are. I keep hearing that 10lbs is the magic number as to when they will start sleeping longer at night so I am looking forward to them all reaching that weight.

Fussiness, and gassiness....oh my!!!!

Well, I guess we have moved into the "real" infant stage as they have passed the 40 week gestational mark (their actual due date of March 27th) and man how things have changed. We are no longer dealing with the same babies we brought home just a few short weeks ago. They have moved into the fussy stage which is difficult with one baby let alone three. Our peditrician says it is a good sign as it shows maturity to use it just equals craziness :)

We are aslo to the point where we have to start stating their adjusted age. For those who have had preemies, you are fully aware of this. For those who haven't I will explain. When we state their actual age of 12weeks we now have to also state that they are 12 weeks actual but only 2 weeks adjusted. This lets people know that even though they are 12 weeks old they are more like an actual 2 week old. However, in some ways they are beyond a 2 week old but in others they are right on target. This will be the case throughout their first year or so.

Despite their fussiness and extreme gassiness, they are all doing really well. They are growing and eating more. We don't know their exact weights but will tomorrow as we have a doctor's appt. We are hoping that Emery & Grayson are around the 8.5lb mark and that Nathan is in the 7lb range. We have heard that once they reach the 10lb mark that is the turning point where they will start sleeping longer at night which we are in desperate need of.
